Director Romain Segaud has really patented a motion, a bouncy, flimsy, over extended then quickly course corrected articulation of body parts and objects in his films. Its utterly charming and lends itself perfectly to Joe Dassin’s playful song “Bip Bip.” I love using cutout not only as an artistic choice but also a production solve, kind of a blend between capturing exactly what you need from your characters in photos, or live action, but then placing the elements anywhere one can imagine. All you need is a LOT. OF. TIME.
