I love all of Director Romain Segaud’s playful, amusing quirky animations. His style is so charming and distinct, and I love his interpretation of the scenes he animates in this wonderful film by Director Jean-Pierre Jeunet (who Directed one of my all time favorite films “Amile.”) His animation is so tactile, and if it isn’t stop-motion it makes a habit of feeling like stop motion. Using jib-jabby mouths and paper doll cutout style, he bounces his characters around in a way I can only describe as very distinctly “Romain” and appears throughout a large portion of his work. This stripped down “making of” makes it look so simple!
