I was puzzling over what I was seeing (but loving it ofc) until I noticed somewhere that apparently Takoyaki means “Octopus Balls.” Suddenly all was made clear! Tokoyo/New York based Illustrator/Animator Sawako Kabuki took this to the place it obviously wanted to go. I can ascertain precious little about the process or director but this is a fun um “fluid” piece that begs to be watched and re-watched.
